CFL's reigning Top Canadian going through several tryouts south of border

COURTICE -- Ricky Foley is giving it his best shot to try to carve out a career in the National Football League.
The 27-year-old Courtice native is spending most of the month of February south of the border, attempting to impress the decision makers among several NFL teams.
This week, the Canadian Football League's Top Canadian in 2009 as a member of the B.C Lions, was working out for the San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks.
Those workouts come following previous meetings with the New York Jets, St. Louis Rams and Philadelphia Eagles. There was also a report Foley visited the New England Patriots.
It is believed Foley will continue to showcase himself to teams over the next few days before making a decision on his playing future.
"There are three situations which are ideal," his agent Paul Sheehy told the Vancouver Sun. "It comes down to meshing opportunity for playing time and an opportunity to make an impact weighed against the contract opportunity. It's a matter of doing what we think is right and not just going for the maximum dollars."
Either way, it seems that a return to the CFL is unlikely for 2010.
"He'll be in the NFL this year," Sheehy told the Sun. "We're closing in on a couple of things ... and we should have it wrapped up by the end of the week."
