OSHAWA -- For two periods the Oshawa Generals played the powerhouse Barrie Colts pretty tough Sunday afternoon.
However, the two periods came following a first in which they fell behind 4-0 in an eventual 4-1 loss.
The Colts scored four times in a span of 6:09 late in the first to jump out ahead on the Generals and goaltender Michael Zador.
By contrast, the Generals offense mustered very little in the first, sending only three shots at Barrie netminder Mavric Parks.
The second and third were much different. Captain Jeff Hayes scored the lone Oshawa goal, shorthanded in the second, while the two teams each had 21 shots over the final 40 minutes.
After allowing four goals in the first, two of which were one's he'd probably like to have back, Zador was solid, particularly in the third, making several big saves.
The Generals' record now sits at 21-27-3-2, good enough for seventh in the Eastern Conference.
Their next game comes Thursday at Niagara.
