DURHAM -- The Durham Girls' Choir is busy drumming up interest for its April 26 concert.

Guest artist at the April 26 concert will be Kathy Armstrong, a composer and percussionist. She also led the girls in a drumming workshop, with traditional drumming, singing and dancing, as they prepared for the show this spring.

Armstrong is the founder of the Baobab Youth Performers and has studied extensively with Ghanaian master drummers.

The concert, Out of Africa, will be held at 7 p.m. at Hebron Church, Anderson Street North, Whitby. Tickets, $12 for adults, $8 for students, can be purchased at the door or e-mail durhamgirlschoir@sympatico.ca.
