WHITBY -- The Whitby Dunlops are offering a chance to jump on their bandwagon. Or, their fan bus at the very least. The team's executive has organized a bus to leave from the Iroquois Park Sports Centre at 10:15 a.m. Monday, April 14 to see the Dunlops' first game at the Allan Cup senior national hockey championships. The Dunlops will open the 100th Allan Cup tournament in Brantford at 1 p.m. that day against either the Dundas Real McCoys or the Thunder Bay Hawks. The trip will cost $55 and includes transportation to and from the game as well as admission. See www.whitbydunlops.com for more details. The Dunlops booked their ticket to the tournament for a third straight year by sweeping the Real McCoys in the Robertson Cup championship. Dundas still has a chance to grab Ontario's final berth during a playoff with the Hawks, the northern champ. Whitby's second and final round-robin game will played Wednesday, April 16 at 1 p.m. against the West Canada representative. Playoffs begin on the Thursday, with the second and third place teams from each of the two pools playing quarterfinals, while the top two teams in each advance straight to semifinals Friday. The championship game goes Saturday, April 19 at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on TSN. TSN will also air comments from Dunlops captain Peter MacKellar and coach Mike Posavad on the That's Hockey show this Thursday at 7 p.m.
