SCARBOROUGH -- Gym Stars Dynamic Gymnastics earned the top club award trophy at the three day Friendship Classic meet in April. Courtney O'Reilly of Bowmanville had the highest floor score of the meet and place 1st all-around in the Level 5, age 14 plus category and Jillian Osborne of Courtice placed 2nd. Brittany Payne of Oshawa finished 1st in the Level 5, age 10-11 category with strong showings on the bars and floor. Kaitlyn O'Reilly from Bowmanville all placed 1st in her category. Overall the Gym Stars had strong showings in the tournament, bringing home 40 golds, 35 silvers and 31 bronze medals.Samantha Marshall to represent Ontario ANCASTER -- After a strong performance at Elite Ontario, Samantha Marshall of Little Britain, has earned a spot on Team Ontario to compete at the Eastern Gymnastics Championships. Marshall competed in the Level 8, age 12-13 category and had solid scores on the balance beam and floor, leading to her silver all-around medal. Nicole Prosser of Oshawa also had a strong showing on vault and finished in 11th place. Elite Ontario was held in Ancaster on April 25-27.Courtney O'Reilly name Provincial Beam Champion VIRGIL -- Courtney O'Reilly of Bowmanville competed in the Level 5, age 14 plus category won gold for her balance beam performance and a bronze for the all-around. Brittany Payne of Oshawa earned a bronze for the balance beam and rounding out the field for the Gym Stars were Stephanie Giroux and Taylor Joseph of Oshawa, Alexandra Ciren of Courtice, Emma-Jane and Claire Chittick and Kaitlyn O'Reilly of Bowmanville. Samantha Marshall had a strong showing on the balance beam and floor that lead her to a silver all-around medal.
