WHITBY -- The 2008 Argos Durham Region Blitz is coming to town and Dr. Thornton Public School in Whitby is one of a few schools that will be hit by the Toronto Argonauts. The Canadian Football League club will be at the school on May 20 for morning recess (10:10 a.m.) and a group of organizers and volunteers will set up the Argonauts Inflatable Zone where kids will have a chance to throw the football, kick and run through a group of inflatable football players. The Argos mascot will also be in attendance, while the Blue Thunder cheerleaders will be having a meet, greet and autograph session. In addition, there will be a autograph sessions with a few members of the Argonauts. It's expected Oshawa's Andre Talbot, the former star quarterback at Paul Dwyer and now one of the Argo's star receivers, and Whitby's Delroy Clarke, a fourth round draft pick of the club in the 2008 draft, will be in attendance. The blitz will last for approximately 20 minutes to half an hour, while another stop is scheduled in the afternoon for Glengrove Public School in Pickering. Lincoln Alexander Public School is also be getting a visit, however, it's not on the slate until Friday afternoon.
