Repatriation ceremony on Saturday evening

Sep 04, 2008 - 04:07 PM

DURHAM -- The latest repatriation ceremony is scheduled to come through Durham Region early Saturday evening.

Three Canadian soldiers were killed and five others were injured when they were attacked during a patrol in Afghanistan Wednesday.

The ceremonial procession is scheduled to pass through Durham on the Highway of Heroes around 7:30 p.m.

Cpl. Andrew Grenon, Cpl. Mike Seggie and Pte. Chad Horn were conducting a security patrol in the Zhari district when the attack occurred, military officials said.

The three were infantrymen with 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry based in Shilo, Manitoba.

The deaths bring to 96 the number of Canadian soldiers killed since Canada's mission to Afghanistan began in 2002.
