Two players from Whitby Iroquois Soccer Club heading overseas

WHITBY -- Two players with the Whitby Iroquois Soccer Club are heading overseas to develop their game.
Tyler Smith, who plays for the Whitby 1995 boys’ team coached by Jens Kraemer, is going on a trial with two Scottish Clubs, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock Aug. 23 to Sept. 9.
The trial came about from WISC’s affiliation with Scottish club, the Glasgow Rangers.Smith, an honours student at Meadowcrest Public School in Brooklin, will also be taking part in provincial identification games in September.
Jordan Haynes, who plays for Whitby’s 1996 boys’ team, will travel to Paris, France, for the Danone Nations Cup Sept. 5-7. He is co-captain of the Canada East team that defeated Canada West 1-0 at the Danone Canadian final at BMO field July 19.
Haynes was an integral part of the Whitby team that won the USA Cup last year in Minneapolis, scoring 10 goals as Whitby went undefeated in six games.
