MANCHESTER -- Volunteers at a community car wash slated to be held Saturday, June 20 will be scrubbing for a cure, as well as a world record, at Scugog's CARSTAR location.

Participants at the Manchester car wash will join volunteers from 140 other locations across North America as part of the CARSTAR Soaps It Up National Car Wash Day, where the company plans to scrub more than 4,000 vehicles in eight hours at multiple venues to set a new Guinness World Record.

Proceeds from the event will support the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and local charities.

In Scugog, the car wash and world record attempt will run from 10 a.m. to noon on June 20.

The Port Perry CARSTAR franchise is located at 14100 Hwy. 12, just north of Manchester.
