Four members of Pickering family caught up in drug bust

PICKERING -- Four members of a Pickering family are facing charges after a raid in which cops seized a substantial cache of drugs including cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine.

Durham Drug enforcement officers backed up by cops from 19 Division executed a search warrant at the home on Sundown Crescent, in the Sheppard Avenue - Whites Road area, early Thursday, taking three men and a woman into custody. During a search of the residence officers seized eight ounces of powder cocaine and 161 grams of marijuana as well as eight grams of crystal meth and six ecstasy tablets, police said. Cops also seized $900 in cash.

Police have estimated the street value of the drugs at $26,000.

Two men and their parents have been charged.

Junior Pearson Williams, 28, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking. Kern Gerrard Williams, 23, is charged with multiple counts of trafficking and possession for the purpose.

Betty Williams, 52, and 73-year-old Lee Williams are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
