WHITBY -- Whitby-Oshawa MPP Christine Elliot spoke out against the cuts to the Ajax hospital last week.
In an news release Ms. Elliot said she was shocked that despite being one of the fastest growing regions in Ontario, the provincial government is removing resources instead of adding them.
The closing of the in-patient mental health unit at the Ajax hospital means patients will have to go to the Scarborough site of the Rouge Valley Health Care System.
Suggesting a person from Clairington should have to go to Scarborough for treatment is completely unrealistic, said Ms. Elliot in Queen's Park.
