Education info session Feb. 11 to help newcomers

Feb 04, 2010 - 11:39 AM

PICKERING -- A free information session by Centennial College is meant to help newcomers to Canada get on track with the education they need to drive their careers forward.

Christina Jodrell, a recruitment representative with Centennial College, will provide information on the program options for newcomers, financial aid and the Ontario Student Assistance Program, and the application process.

Centennial College has more than 100 programs, including Fast Track programs that are designed for newcomers to Canada who may already possess a degree or diploma. They're available in almost every discipline at the school and allow the student to complete their degree or diploma in one to two years.

The session will run on Thursday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at 1400 Bayly St., Unit 5 in Pickering.

The program is free to immigrants in Canada. Call in advance to reserve a seat.
