PICKERING -- A fast-moving storm Thursday afternoon sent residents of a Pickering neighbourhood scrambling to bail out vehicles and clear storm drains.

Part of Mulmur Court, in the Liverpool Road and Finch Avenue area, was flooded with some vehicles up to their axles in water.

Residents scrambled into the knee-deep mess in an effort to find catch basins and clear the drains.

“The worst I’ve ever seen,” said Vicky Kirkey who has lived there since 1977.

Several residents emailed photos of the aftermath of the storm to newsdurhamregion.com.
