OSHAWA -- Police are seeking a suspect after an Oshawa drug store was robbed Thursday night.
Police say it was about 6 p.m. when they were called to Lovell Drugs on King Street East in Oshawa.
The 49-year-old female employee said a man had gone to the pharmacy desk, said that he was robbing her and produced a plastic bag. She attempted to stall the man, who became annoyed and broke the door to the pharmacy desk before going behind it.
There, he helped himself to prescription medication, then fled the store.
He was last seen walking east on King Street. A police search of the area failed to turn him up.
The store employee was not injured.
The suspect is described as white, 28 to 33-years-old, six foot one with a heavy build, shaved head and a goatee. He is said to have multiple tattoos on both forearms. He was wearing a brown shirt, black shorts and black and white running shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mike Horrocks of the Major Crime Robbery Unit at 905-579-1520, ext. 5355. Anonymous calls can be made to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS (8477).
