OSHAWA -- Durham Regional Police are seeking a suspect after two eight-year-old girls reported a man exposed himself to them, then attempted to grab one of them last Saturday.
The two girls said that between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., they had been walking along a pathway near Darcy and Grierson streets in Oshawa when a man approached from behind on a bike, then stopped in front of them. The victim said the man exposed himself to her, then reached out and grabbed at her. He then rode away northbound along the path.
The man is described as white, clean-shaven, with a fair complexion. He was 18 to 21 years old, with short brown hair and brown eyes. His clothing was described as a white T-shirt, green pants and dark-coloured athletic style shoes. Police say the bike is believed to be a BMX-style, dark in colour.
Anyone who may have been walking in the area and witnessed this incident or believes they can identify the suspect, is asked to call Detective Constable Nancy Accettone of the Major Crime Sexual Assault Unit at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 5325. Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
