ASHBURN -- Join the Royal Ashburn Golf Club in celebrating the local farming community at the first-ever Royal Harvest Dinner.
The week-long event will feature menu items provided by local suppliers. All the beef, pork and chicken used in the meal will be naturally grown, grain-and-pasture fed and hormone free. The dinner will also include all local fresh produce from within a 25-kilometre radius of the club and local wine from Ocala Winery and other Ontario vintages.
"It's to raise awareness for some of the local farmers in our community and to offer people a healthy meal," general manager Scott Paterson said.
This is the Royal Harvest Dinner's first year of running but organizers hope it will become an annual tradition, he added.
The event will take place from Monday, Sept. 1, to Monday, Sept. 8. at Royal Ashburn Golf Club, 995 Myrtle Rd. W. in Ashburn. About 100 people can be accommodated for each night in the club's restaurant, Butlers Dining Room. To make reservations, call 905-686-1121, ext. 234.
