Free Comic Book Day celebrated in Oshawa

April 29, 2008 - 04:30

OSHAWA -- May 3 is Worldwide Free Comic Book day and Worlds Collide is celebrating.

The downtown store will be giving away free comic books during the day and providing special programs.

"The wide array of comic books being published today ensures that readers of all ages -- children, teens and adults -- can find something appropriate that will stir their imaginations," said owner Tim Simms. "Comic books and graphic novels are considered hip, hot and smart."

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers will be on hand for photo opportunities. Local author, Mark Feltham will be there to sign his book, Little Dragonfly, and answer questions about art, comic books and writing from noon to 2 p.m. He'll be accompanied by Lamin Martin, of Toronto, a fantasy graphic artist, and artist Leif.

Worlds Collide is located at 80 Simcoe St. N.
