AJAX-- Experience bright and colourful art.
Ajax artist Joan Bontje is having a one-woman show as part of Art in Public Places, a PineRidge Arts Council initiative.
Bontje discovered her passion for art while in high school and it has been a part of her life ever since. She was the Art Director for the Village of Ayr, a member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Group and the Cambridge Art Centre and took part in many watercolour courses and shows. She has now joined the Ajax Art centre , PineRidge Arts Council and the Oshawa Art Association.
Bontje currently participates in shows where she exhibits and sells her work. She also experiments with liquid acrylics, pastels and specializes in abstract forms.
The exhibit runs until June 30, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the OPG Information Centre, 1675 Montgomery Park Rd. (at the foot of Brock Road), Pickering.
