This weekend is Family Fishing Weekend
DURHAM -- This weekend is Ontario Family Fishing Weekend.
The Central Lake Ontario Conservation Area is inviting people to visit local conservation areas to enjoy some fishing. From 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 4, to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 6, Canadian residents will be allowed to fish in Ontario without a licence, though all other regulations, fees and limits will apply.
"Creeks within CLOCA's jurisdiction provide many great angling opportunities for a variety of fish species, such as brown trout, rainbow trout, brook trout, smallmouth bass, panfish and many others," said Gord Geissberger, CLOCA's community outreach co-ordinator. "Family Fishing Weekend is a great time to take a break, pack a picnic lunch along with your fishing rod and discover your local conservation area."
The following local conservation areas will be open from dawn until dusk with fishing opportunities: Heber Down in Whitby; Enniskillen in Clarington; Lynde Shores in Whitby; and Oshawa Valleylands in Oshawa.
Directions to the areas are available on CLOCA's website at www.cloca.com.
Event information is available at www.familyfishingweekend.com.
