CAW apologizes for disrupting memorial service

Jun 08, 2008 - 04:59 PM

To the editor:

Please accept this apology in response to a letter to the editor currently on the durhamregion.com website.

Dear Mrs. Marianne Waldman, our members have family serving in the Armed Forces. Had we known there were services going on at the time of our convoy, we would have not come by our CAW Local 222 Union Hall at the same time. There was certainly no disrespect intended and the disruption was purely involuntary. We trust you were able to take advantage of our parking lot during the weekend’s events. In the future, we hope the organizers of events at Camp X will let their neighbours know so we can avoid any future difficulties. We deeply apologize and hope you can understand the circumstances.

Yours truly,

Chris Buckley, President CAW Local 222
