Oshawa residents in dark as vehicle hits pole, flees

Feb 03, 2010 - 10:34 AM

OSHAWA -- Police are investigating a single vehicle crash early Wednesday that left some homes in north Oshawa without power.

The driver of a large, black vehicle that left Rossland Road near Brookside Drive just before 3 a.m. fled the scene of the crash, Durham police spokesman Dave Selby said.

A street sign and a hydro pole were struck and power to 11 homes in the area was knocked out. Traffic lanes on Rossland were closed while crews carried out repairs. Rossland was re-opened by 9 a.m.
