COBOURG -- A Pickering man damaged a police cruiser and spat all over the inside of the car, after being arrested for causing a disturbance by swearing, around 2 a.m., on June 20.
Cobourg police responded to a call on Third Street, outside Kelly’s Homelike Inn. Upon arrival, police spotted three men walking north, and one man was holding a second by the neck, while yelling and swearing at him.
Police intervened and as a result arrested a 34-year-old Pickering man. The accused was arrested for causing a disturbance by swearing.
Police said he continued to be agitated by the police presence and, once inside the cruise, he allegedly struck the door and screen cage causing damage. He also spat all over the inside of the cruiser, which subsequently required sanitizing, police said.
The accused was also found to be on probation from previous convictions in Oshawa. He is now facing charges of causing a disturbance, mischief and breach of probation.
