GM reports $2.5 billion US loss in third quarter
DETROIT -- The bad news for GM workers in Canada will get worse as General Motors reports a $2.5 billion US loss in its latest quarterly report and warns that it's liquidity in 2008 "will approach the minimum amount necessary to operate its business." "Unprecedented economic and credit market turmoil" were cited in third quarter-results just posted by the GM global headquarters in the U.S. There's no immediate word on how the Canadian operations, including Oshawa, will be affected.
