A pair of local teens travelled to Toronto earlier this month to compete in pageants.
Alicia Bagshaw represented Brock Township in the Miss Teen Canada Globe pageant, held Aug. 8 to 10.
The 14-year-old from Sunderland competed against 31 other teens from across the country. And while she didn't place in the pageant, Ms Bagshaw did finish ninth in online voting.
"I had a lot of fun and got along well with the other girls," she said.
"It was a great experience."
Last year's Beaverton Fall Fair ambassador, Maralee Drake finished in the top seven at the Ambassador of the Fair competition at the CNE.
More than 70 young men and women aged 18 to 25 competed in the three-day competition from Aug. 15 to 17.
The experience is one she'll never forget.
"It was amazing," she said.
"I really don't know how to describe it. There's so many people there... The competition was fierce, but you don't really notice it because you're having so much fun."
After graduating from Brock High School this summer, the Ontario Scholar will study Sports Management at Brock University.
