AJAX -- The Town is holding a party to celebrate the country's birthday.
Canada Day festivities are being held on Tuesday, July 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rotary Park.
And a full day of activities is planned, including pony rides and a petting zoo, inflatable rides, carnival games, strolling buskers, magic shows at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., exotic animals from the Bowmanville Zoo, musical entertainment and the "Laugh Out Loud" program hosted by the Ajax Public Library.
There's also a community corner, where local organizations will have displays and demonstrations.
Also on July 1, a citizenship ceremony is being held at 10 a.m. in the council chambers of the Town hall, at the corner of Harwood Avenue and Kings Crescent. The ceremony is in partnership with the Community Development Council Durham.
And what's a birthday without a cake?
Other features include food and beverages and a giant mural painting.
Parking is limited at Rotary Park and parking restrictions will be enforced.
Free shuttle bus service will be provided by Stock Transportation. For routes and pickup locations, check the Town's website.
