Have Your Say on our armed forces in Afghanistan

We asked: How best can we honour those soldiers who die while representing Canada in Afghanistan?

I think that every fallen soldier from Afghanistan should have a street/park or facility named after them in their hometown or area. That way their sacrifice can be honoured by many, and their names will be remembered by not only the families but by everyone. Whether you support our troops overseas or not, respect the men and women that put their needs last, that just want to survive their tour and come home to loved ones.

We can best honour the fallen soldiers by learning the lesson that the loss of those young lives should have taught us. In the name of the fallen soldiers, bring the survivors home to be re-assigned in areas either where the enemy is visible or in areas of peace-keeping. Also name battalions, after each of the soldiers 'killed in action'. Each home community should also have streets named after the deceased.

They do know where they are going, and I feel very sorry for their parents. The wars do not fix, do not resolve anything. I do not support any war, or anything like that. The best honour for ourselves, our family we can make is staying in Canada. Please be yourself!

I think, truly, the best way to honour all the soldiers, is to be the best person you can be. They are over there, fighting for our freedom and some sadly dying for it. Pay your respect to this true heroism and pay it forward. Put your best effort out there, so they know that what they fight for, we are eternally grateful for.

Treat them like the heros they are, but get the rest back home onto Canadian soil! Our place is NOT there. We have no business being waist-deep in sand, and poking our snouts in other people's affairs. They didn't ask us to show up, so why in God's green earth did the current administration think it was OK for the old Maple Leaf to interfere? Let's get out of Dodge before we lose any more!
