The Metroland Durham Region Media Group is the primary source for community news in Durham Region and Northumberland County, with eight community newspapers, a host of specialty publications and our website, devoted to covering breaking news around the clock.

In Durham Region and Northumberland County, our newspapers are welcomed into as many as 217,600 homes and businesses on the largest pressrun day of the week, Thursday. Our papers are:

Durham Region

• The Ajax-Pickering News Advertiser --  publishing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with a circulation of 51,400 in the first two editions, and 50,400 on Friday.

• Oshawa This Week (pressrun 48,700 Weds/Thurs, 48,000 Fri), Whitby This Week (pressrun 31,000 Weds/Thurs, 308,000 Fri), Clarington This Week (pressrun 24,500 Weds/Thurs, 18,000 Fri). Each of these three communities is well served with a newspaper carrying local news specific to the municipality, publishing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Up to 104,250 homes, businesses and apartments await a copy of their paper three times a week.

• The Uxbridge Times-Journal -- Serving the Township of Uxbridge, the Times-Journal publishes Thursdays with a circulation of 10,500.

• The Port Perry Star -- Bringing local news to the communities in Scugog Township each Thursday, the Port Perry Star has a circulation of 15,500.

Northumberland County

• The Northumberland News -- publishes Thursdays and Fridays, with a press run of 22,800. It serves the communities of Cobourg, Port Hope, Alnwick/Haldimand Township, the Township of Cramahe and Hamilton Township.

• The Independent -- Covering Brighton and Trent Hills, this newspaper publishes Thursdays with a circulation of 17,400.
