Subdivision plan in north Ajax fine with Catholic school board

Jan 29, 2010 - 10:58 AM

AJAX -- Durham's Catholic school board has no problem with a subdivision that would generate 76 students in the area of St. Catherine of Siena elementary school.

Trustees provided no objection to the Town of Ajax on a proposed 473-home subdivision at Church Street North and Rossland Road West, which would contain 451 single detached homes and 22 townhouses.

Students destined to the Catholic board from the subdivision would be bused to St. Catherine, which had 459 students as of November 2009 and a rated capacity of 239 students.
