Region hosts collection in Uxbridge this month

UXBRIDGE -- If have any unwanted electronic items cluttering up your space, now's your chance to get rid of them.

The Region of Durham is hosting an e-waste collection at the Uxbridge Seniors Centre, 75 Marietta St. on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon. This event allows residents of Durham to unload household hazardous waste, up to 50 litres, as well as e-waste such as cellphones, computer towers, monitors, televisions, video cassettes and other similar items. The household waste items can include compact fluorescent bulbs, antifreeze, batteries, brake fluid, motor oil, herbicides/insecticides and propane tanks.
