DURHAM -- Six of 14 beaches tested by Durham Region are posted with cautions against swimming because of high bacteria counts.

The posted beaches are marked with red pins on the map below.  Blue flags indicate that a beach has been given the all clear.

Water is tested at 14 beaches during the summer to ensure they are safe for swimming.

Newsdurhamregion.com will be providing updated beach water test results each week. Testing is conducted by Durham Region Public Health on a weekly basis and results are released each Thursday.
