Santa Claus is coming to Pickering

November 02, 2009

PICKERING -- Although Christmas is still two months away, Santa Claus is just around the corner.

The 2009 Pickering Santa Claus Parade, presented by the Kinsmen and Kinette Club of Pickering, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. It'll begin at Vaughan Willard Public School (Dixie and Glenanna Roads) and travel east along Glenanna Road to the Pickering Town Centre.

The Kinsmen and Kinettes are inviting people to showcase their businesses or organizations in the parade and help cheer on the season. All floats or displays must relay the spirit of Christmas and follow the Holly, Jolly Christmas theme. The deadline to apply for a spot is Friday, Nov. 6.

Prizes will be awarded to the best community, youth, corporate and/or commercial groups and there will also be a president's choice award.

Kids can also take along their letters for Santa.
