CLARINGTON -- Anastasia Tiller's woven art is on display at Artspace on the Mezzanine, in the Bowmanville branch of the Clarington Public Library, until July 31. July 2009
CLARINGTON -- Anastasia Tiller believes it’s a great time to be an artist since the borders between different genres are largely gone and technology is having a huge impact.
She arrived in Canada eight years ago from Moscow and is showing her work in Clarington to July 31.
She likes experimenting with media, textures and styles. In Clarington, at Artspace on the Mezzanine in the Bowmanville branch of the Clarington Public Library, Tiller is showing her woven images, in which she incorporates artifacts from her extensive travels. The show is called Tapestry of Sentiment.
“Modern Art is my inspiration,” she says in her artist’s statement. “I feel that in this century, borders dividing different art forms are broken. More often, you could see merging and mixture of different art forms. We are in this exciting age of complete freedom of expression where everything is possible.”
The gallery is at 163 Church St. and open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
Submissions from artists who wish to exhibit at Artspace on the Mezzanine can be made to Jean-Michel Komarnicki at jmkimage@ican.net or by calling 905-623-9060.
