January 09, 2009

DURHAM -- Local entertainers are helping to raise funds for the Humane Society of Durham Region.

Musicians from Durham and throughout the GTA will present a gala concert on Jan. 17, with all proceeds going to the Humane Society, hit by fire just before Christmas. Now without a home, the society is looking to rebuild.

The musicians involved in the concert are donating their time and talents. Taking part are Kristine Dandavino, Marianne Zin-Orlowski, Barbara Hodder, Melanie Hartshorn-Walton, Keith Hartshorn-Walton, Joanne Averill-Rocha, Marianne Turner, Kristen Theriault and many more.

Tickets for the concert, to be held at 8 p.m. Ritson Road Alliance Church, 605 Ritson Rd. N., Oshawa, are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at Wilson and Lee Music, Simcoe Street North, downtown Oshawa.

Donations can also be made at www.humanedurham.com.
