Boom in Bowmanville as storm rumbles through
BOWMANVILLE -- "It sounded like there were explosions outside our house."
The sharp booms outside Heather Hreljac's Bowmanville house marked the arrival of a fast moving storm Thursday night.
"It was moving really quick," she said.
But not quickly enough that she couldn't run to get her camera and capture some images of the a swirling black cloud that brought heavy rain, high winds, hail, and rolling thunder.
"The hail started, the wind was going," Hreljac said as she described what happened about 6 p.m.
Environment Canada issued a severe weather watch late Thursday, however, there were no reports of serious damage.
