AJAX -- Police arrested two men following a home invasion in south Ajax Wednesday evening.
Around 6 p.m. Aug. 6, Durham Regional Police responded to the invasion-style robbery, which they have determined was not a random act.
The victim reported to police that he was in his backyard when the two men approached and demanded money. He said he didn't have any, and was punched in the face numerous times before the men forced him into his house and ransacked his bedroom looking for money. When nothing was found, they took his wallet and fled in a dark coloured vehicle. Police found and arrested the suspects shortly after.
Imad Al-hassania, age 26, of Bray Drive, and Timothy Rector, age 22, of Field Crescent in Ajax are charged with robbery and break and enter. Both were held for a bail hearing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Dan McKinnon at 905-579-1520 ext. 2544. Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
