MANILLA -- A trio of masked men, including one suspect brandishing a firearm, grabbed cash and cigarettes during a heist at a Manilla corner store on Monday evening.

According to the City of Kawartha Lakes Ontario Provincial Police detachment, three men entered the Manilla General Store, located at the intersection of Simcoe Street and Hwy. 7, just north of the Scugog border, shortly after 8 p.m. on Jan. 5.

Police say the men, who were wearing toques and clothing to mask their faces, demanded cash, lottery tickets and cigarettes from the store clerk. The suspects then fled the store on foot and were last seen running south on Simcoe Street, say police.

One of the men had a firearm, add police.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to contact Kawartha Lakes OPP at 705-324-6741.
